CHARLTON SPOTLIGHT #5's centerpiece is the longest-ever interview conducted with the legendary JOE GILL (conducted by Jim Amash), with many rare and unpublished photos and much choice artwork, all behind a new cover painting by Charlton's own Nick Cuti!

Plus we have features on Steve Ditko: Steve Skeates examines the untold story behind his collaboration with Ditko on the Dr. Strange-like story "The Ultimate Evil" (MANY GHOSTS OF DR. GRAVES #12); Ron Frantz remembers working with both Gill and Ditko on Ron's ACE Comics line in the mid-1980s; Mark Burbey explores the origins of CAPTAIN ATOM; and Gene Phillips examines the evolution of Ditko's BLUE BEETLE. And there's more: Steve Skeates checks in a second time with a memoir of his early work with Jim Aparo at Charlton and DC; Ramon Schenk details the innovative "text-story experiments" of the 1970s Charlton humor comics and Howard L. Davis visits Charlton in 1974. All with loads of gorgeous Charlton art, covers, checklists, and more info than you ever thought you needed! No dedicated Charlton fan will want to miss this issue!

Charlton Spotlight #4
still available!
This issue pays tribute to the memory of the late, great PETE "P.A.M." MORISI, creator of Peter Cannon--Thunderbolt and Johnny Dynamite and long-time Silver Age Charlton and Timely/Atlas comics artist-writer.

Pete Morisi became a fan favorite for his highly individual style on Charlton's ghost, western and adventure strips. Behind a rare hand-colored T-BOLT front cover drawing by Morisi, we focus on P.A.M.'s long legacy at Charlton with articles by Steve Skeates, Bill Pearson, Mark Burbey, Glen Johnson, Ron Frantz and others--along with plenty of rare, obscure and unpublished art.

In addition to never-before-published pages from Morisi's final T-BOLT story for DC, there's also a vintage 1976 interview, a classic Morisi story reprint, an interview with PAM's son and collaborator Steve Morisi, an exhaustive checklist of Morisi's Charlton work with biographical resources, and a gallery of his Charlton covers! Back cover features an unpublished JOHNNY DYNAMITE poster in full color.

Rounding out the issue are Marvel/DC artist Tom Christopher's memoir of contributing to Charlton's last days, with rare and unpublished DR.GRAVES and HAUNTED covers, plus horror-fantasy artist Denis Tiani's personal memoir of collecting Charlton's infamous early '60s monster magazines, HORROR MONSTERS and MAD MONSTERS. And we have the very special surprise return of an old-time Charlton feature by its creator, Nick Cuti! With the usual extensive Charlton checklists and cover galleries, news, reviews, readers departments and more.

Welcome to CS On-Line!
This is the electronic version of the fanzine Charlton Spotlight. Because we can't publish all material we receive for publication, we decided to show you some of the highlights you will and won't see in the "paper" mag.

Introduction - What is Charlton Spotlight?
Charlton Spotlight is a magazine devoted to the publications and history of the Derby, Connecticut publisher, Charlton! It is irregularly published and features interviews with former Charlton creators and personnel, discussions of publications, artwork and checklists.

Charlton Checklists - We need your help!!
Charlton Spotlight is about all things Charlton. The same goes for Charlton Spotlight On-Line. However, the main advantage of a website as compared to a paper magazine, is that you have far more space to fill.

It is our aim to create a large number of checklists regarding Charlton.
We plan to publish lists of Charlton's many publications (comic books, magazines, paperbacks etc.), but also checklists for creators. This way, we hope to encourage research and publication about the various aspects of Charlton.

To build a body of checklists that strives for completeness, we need your help. We would like you to attribute as many entries as you can, making our Charlton Checklists the best around! Of course you will be properly credited for your help.
